Let me show you what we have in the article below.

How To Use Nespresso Machine?

It’s not as hard as you think to use a Nespresso machine.

Step 1: Check Nespresso Machine’s Water Tray

In this step, you should fill approximately half or enough water into the water tray of the Nespresso machine to make coffee.

Note: Add a little more water into the tray for at least 2-3 servings at a time.

Step 2: Start The Machine

Press the “espresso” or “lungo” button to turn on the Original series, and the “on” button to turn on Vertuo models. When the lights are on, you can start making coffee.

Step 3: Place The Coffee Cup In The Right Position

Place the cup on the front tray of the Nespresso machine. Some Vertuo units also allow the cup to be raised and lowered to receive the coffee flowing out.

When using such flexible Vertuo units, you need to place the tray in the desired position first, then fit the cup later to avoid any coffee waste.

Step 4: Insert The Coffee Capsule Into Nespresso Machines

Insert The Coffee Capsule Into The Nespresso Machine

Put a coffee capsule in the right position, then close the lid. In the original series, you need to lift the small bar on the machine to insert capsules. In contrast, the Vertuo series only require you to turn and lift the lever on top of the machine to put the capsule in.

With original units, you must follow the instructions from the manufacturers to place the capsule in the right position. With Vertuo models, you must pay attention to set the dome side face down, then slide the lever to the “lock” position to start the machine. All Nespresso machines will automatically stop after finishing brewing.

Also, you can pause the Vertuo machines by pressing the “on” button while it’s working if you want to drink a half cup or want to make espresso, lungo style coffee.

Step 5: Remove The Capsules After Use

Each container of a Nespresso machine can store only a certain amount of capsules, so you need to regularly empty the excess capsule after use. For the original series, lift the barrier to eject excess ones.

With Vertuo models, flick the lever to the “unlock” position and take out the tray to remove empty capsules.

Step 6: Take Care Of The Device Regularly

You should preserve your Nespresso machine by cleaning the cup tray, capsule container, and outside surface after use to keep your device clean and durable.

How To Descale Nespresso Machine?

You’d better descale your Nespresso machine at least twice a year to extend its lifespan. You can buy a descaler or mix citric acid with water to create a solution.

However, you need to be extremely careful to avoid getting burn during the cleaning  process.

Descale your Nespresso machine at least twice a year

Before cleaning, remove all remaining coffee capsules in the container, then fill the water tray of the machine with an appropriate amount of detergent according to the machine’s instructions, as each model needs a different amount of water.

Place an additional container of about 0,132 gallons of water under the tap to collect spilled water while the machine is being cleaned. Press the start buttons according to the manufacturer’s instructions. The cleaning process may take some time, so you should not interrupt or stop the machine unless the water overflows.

You can repeat the descaling process if necessary, then pour drinking water into the water tray (non-detergent-containing) to rinse and remove the residue left.

Exit the cleaning mode by pressing the button instructed by the manufacturer, then allow the appliance to dry for about 10 minutes before making your new cups of coffee. Finally, you can use a damp cloth to wipe both inside and outside of the Nespresso machine to keep it clean.
